RDA Handout for Educators and Trainers

Following on from her Report on approaches to teaching RDA in the LIS classroom (RSC/Papers/2022/1), RSC Education and Orientation Officer Elisa Sze has worked with ALA Digital Reference to produce RDA Teaching & Training Tips, a handout for educators and trainers.

It is available to download from the RDA Toolkit website.

Proposal to revise the element hierarchy for appellations of work groups

The RSC would like to thank its Technical Working Group for its proposal to revise the element hierarchy for appellations of work groups. RSC/TechnicalWG/2024/1 has been published today on the RSC website and archived (with stable URI) to ALAIR.

New RDA Examples Editor Appointed

Following a very successful recruitment process, the RDA Steering Committee (RSC) is delighted to announce the appointment of Jessica Grzegorski to follow Honor Moody as RDA Examples Editor.

Jessica Grzegorski is Head of Cataloging at the Newberry Library in Chicago. She is well-known in the rare books community, having served on the RBMS RDA Editorial Group, which publishes and maintains Descriptive Cataloging of Rare Materials (RDA Edition) (DCRMR) and the RBMS Policy Statements, since 2019.

Starting 2024 with a Permanent RSC Education and Orientation Officer

The RDA Steering Committee is pleased to announce that its Education and Orientation Officer role has been approved by the RDA Board to become a permanent position on the RSC after a two-year co-option. Elisa Sze, who has been serving in this role, has agreed to extend her term through to December 2025.

Charlene Chou Begins Second Term as Wider Community Engagement Officer

The RDA Steering Committee (RSC) is pleased to announce that Charlene Chou has accepted an offer to continue in her role as its Wider Community Engagement Officer (WCEO), and has been re-appointed for a further term until December 2025.
