| RDA Registry Website | 30 December 2014 |
The RDA Toolkit Technical Committee has updated the website of rdaregistry.info, the namespace of the RDA element sets. The website provides access to the element sets as well as examples and datasets which use RDA elements, and maps between RDA elements and other namespaces. The maps include one between elements for RDA relationship designators and the MARC relator codes. Data files are available in multiple formats. |

The final versions of the proposals approved by the Joint Steering Committee for Development of RDA during and after its November 2013 meeting have been posted on this web site. See the "Sec final" documents listed in the table of new working documents or consult a specific proposal in the constituency proposals section. |
| 2013 JSC Meeting Documents: Outcomes | 28 January 2014 |
The Joint Steering Committee for Development of RDA discussed 48 proposals and discussion papers at its November 2013 meeting. A table with a summary of the actions taken by the JSC is available for consultation until the final versions of the approved proposals are posted on this site in early February 2014. The Joint Steering Committee for Development of RDA (JSC), Metadata Management Associates, and ALA Publishing (on behalf of the co-publishers of RDA) are pleased to announce that the RDA elements and relationship designators have been published in the Open Metadata Registry (OMR) as Resource Description Framework (RDF) element sets suitable for linked data and semantic Web applications. |

Galen Jones joined the Joint Steering Committee for Development of RDA (JSC) on January 1, 2014. He replaced Gordon Dunsire, now the Chair of JSC, as the representative of the Chartered Institute of Library and Information Professionals (CILIP). |

Held in Washington, D.C., USA, November 4-8, 2013 The Joint Steering Committee for Development of RDA (JSC) met at American Library Association Washington Office, in Washington, D.C., USA, from November 4-8, 2013. Troy Linker and James Hennelly, representing ALA Publishing, also attended; eleven other observers also attended the public sessions of the meeting. |
| New JSC Chair for 2014-2015 | 4 December 2013 |
Gordon Dunsire is the new Chair of JSC for 2014-2015, following his election as Chair-Elect at the JSC's meeting in November 2012. Gordon has been the CILIP representative to the JSC since 2012, and a member of the CILIP-BL Committee on RDA since 2003. He is a member of the FRBR Review Group and ISBD Linked Data Study Group, and chairs the IFLA Namespaces Technical Group. He has followed a library career path of cataloger, systems librarian, technical services manager, and researcher in digital libraries, and is now an independent consultant. Gordon lives in Edinburgh, Scotland. |

The proposals, discussion papers, etc., related to revision and development of RDA from the JSC constituencies and others have been submitted for discussion at the November 4-8, 2013 JSC meeting in Washington, D.C., USA. A table of the documents is available for your use. The documents are posted in the constituency proposals section of this web site. JSC responses to the documents will be posted by early October. Constituency responses to the new proposals are due October 5, 2013. |
